Varsity Girls Badminton
Going into the spring season, the Girls Varsity Badminton team was looking forward to hosting home games for the first time. On April 1, the first home game was against Waukegan High School. The girls won 4–2 in doubles and 7–6 in singles. On April 3, the team played away at Glenbrook South, winning again. Manager William Xiao ‘26 described the start of the season, saying, “It’s been really good. The courts are fabulous. I love them, and it is an amazing addition to our school.”
Varsity Boys Baseball
The Boys Varsity Baseball team got off to a red-hot start to the first game of the season, beating the Intrinsic Charter School of Chicago 17–0 in four innings. Landon Fraser ‘25 went 2–2 with a triple and three RBIs (runs batted in) at the plate, in addition to one strikeout and no hits in one inning on the mound. In their first ISL game of the season, the Varsity team played the Latin School of Chicago, falling 1–11 despite another good outing on the mound from Fraser.
Varsity Boys Lacrosse
Heading into the Spring season, the Varsity Boys Lacrosse were more motivated than ever to improve their game. Despite a 14–7 loss in the first week against Lakes Community High School, the team is determined to rebound and create momentum for their second game. Varsity Goalie Drake Mitchell ‘26 said, “The first lacrosse game of the season showed that we have some progress to look forward to but was overall a solid baseline for our team.” As the season progresses, the team hopes to maintain their chemistry and improve their skills.
Varsity Girls Lacrosse:
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team fell to Regina Dominican High School in their first game of the year. Despite the cold and poor weather, the team has enjoyed practicing on the turf fields thus far. Manager Peyton Pollak ‘26 said, “Everyone has been putting their all into our games, especially our players who are new this season! I am so proud, and I am very excited for the rest of the year.”
Varsity Girls Soccer:
As the spring athletics season goes underway, the Varsity Girls Soccer team is determined and ready more than ever to make the most out of it. With a strong team bond and major improvements in the offseason, the team is looking to build momentum and push themselves further. They started off the season on a high note with a dominant 8–0 home victory against Woodlands Academy and are prepared to maintain their energy for the many more games ahead.
Varsity Girls Softball
The Varsity Girls Softball team kicked off their spring season with a strong commitment to elevating their game. Despite a hard-fought loss against Woodlands Academy in their opening game, the team remains focused and ready to improve. As the next few games approach, the team is ready to learn from their challenges and build a stronger team chemistry to create a memorable and fantastic season.
Varsity Boys Tennis
The Boy Varsity Tennis team has got off to an impressive start this year, going 3–1 in their first four matches. The boys have won 5–0 in their last two games, beating Lake Park High School and Addison Trail High School at a tournament in Lake Park. The team is learning how to play together, and there are a lot of new players who are learning fast. Captain Aarnav Shah ‘25 said, “The team is ready for many matches to come and is growing more into a family every day.”
Varsity Boys Track:
Heading into the Spring athletics season, the Varsity Boys Track squad was determined to crush it this year. The first few meets of the year were a major success, as boys placed third overall in the Big Leap. The team was ecstatic and prepared to maintain momentum. Varsity Track captain Roman McLaurine ‘26 described the early meets as an “opportunity to see where your training in the offseason has led you, helping you to see what to tweak and practice on more.” McLaurine continued, “I’m looking forward to seeing all my fellow athletes progress and compete against themselves.” As the team prepares for the next few meets, they hope to keep up their strong start and grow stronger as a group.
Varisty Girls Track:
The Girls Varsity Track and Field team has been off to a solid start, placing second in both of their recent meets, including the annual LFA Open. Kate Delia ‘25 ran the 5th fastest 100-meter dash in LFA history with a 13.4 seconds. Throwing captain Evie Miller ‘26 said, “So far, energy is high. Everyone knows what they’re doing in their events, demonstrating their understanding. This year, it has felt more like a team sport and less of an independent one. I think this is going to be a great year for Lake Forest Academy track.”
Varsity Boys Volleyball
The Varsity Boys Volleyball team opened their season with a competitive start despite a close loss against St. Viators. The team bounced back with a strong 2–0 win against Rochelle Zell Jewish High School. Although they faced a setback in their third game, the players continue to focus on improving from their mistakes and growing as a team to create an unforgettable season.\
