Varsity Boys Baseball
The Boys Varsity Baseball team had a more successful season than previous years, winning more and playing closer games. The team showed a much better offensive display, with great pitching year-round from Christian Martinez ‘25 and Landon Fraser ‘25. One of the best moments this year was Martinez’s lights-out pitching performance against Francis W. Parker. Santi Delgado ‘25 described his final season: “It was full of excitement. Going from only one win last year to multiple this year, the team has significantly improved in performance and camaraderie. Together we battled throughout our wins and losses, but we never forgot to have fun.”
Varsity Girls Badminton
The Girls Varsity Badminton team had a successful season this spring. This was the first year that they could host home games thanks to LFA’s new athletic center expansion. Despite a relatively short season, the girls went 5-2, beating bigger public schools around the area, such as Deerfield High School and Highland Park High School. A highlight of the season was beating Waukegan High School in the first-ever badminton games hosted at LFA this April.
Varsity Boys Tennis
The Boys Varsity Tennis team had an amazing season, going 14-2 this year. In the last weekend of the season, the team headed down to the AC Nielsen Center in Winnetka for the ISL championship, finishing a respectable 2nd place in their conference. Senior and captain Aarnav Shah ‘25 described his final season: “Seeing the team grow through practices, matches and bonding made the tennis season an amazing part of this year. We honored every member of the team at our team dinner, and put up an amazing performance at the ISL tournament to end the season. Although the goodbyes to our seniors were bittersweet, our time with LFA tennis ended on a great note with a senior night win.”
Varsity Girls Lacrosse
This year’s Girls Varsity Lacrosse team had a stellar season. Despite many ups and downs, the girls persevered and improved their skills, displaying incredible growth throughout the season.
Varsity Co-Ed Track
The Varsity Track team had a very successful season this year. Some big moments include the team finishing second at the LFA Open and the girls winning the Viking Invitational in late April. Star runner Kate Delia ‘25 had an outstanding season, breaking four records and winning the 400-meter dash at the Lake County Invitational. Delia said, “The last meet of my high school career was my biggest accomplishment. Winning all four events I ran in was something I am super happy about”. A highlight for the boys was the long jump during the ISL Championship, where Michael An ‘26 finished first and Aston Choi ‘27 finished second.
Varsity Girls Softball:
This year’s Girls Varsity Softball squad demonstrated an incredible year of improvement and success. Despite a handful of struggles, the team persevered and continued their efforts to play their best.
Varsity Girls Soccer
This spring season, Girls Varsity Soccer put on a spectacular year-long display. Coach Mpofu described the season as “a reflection on the team’s incredible hard work and commitment, noting that he’s, “Looking forward to seeing the girls continue their effort in the offseason as well.” A highlight of the season included an astounding 8-0 home win against Woodlands Academy. With the conclusion of the spring season, the girls hope to improve their game and wish their fellow seniors good luck in their collegiate years ahead.
Varsity Boys Volleyball
This year’s Varsity Boys Volleyball team displayed outstanding commitment despite a competitive season. The boys pulled a handful of hard-fought wins, with a highlight being a close 2-1 win against Round Lake High School. The boys hope to prepare and work hard during the offseason to come out stronger than ever next year.
Varsity Boys Lacrosse
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse squad had a terrific year, going 6-7, which was a significant improvement from last year’s record. The team was able to truly demonstrate their incredible efforts this year and persevere through many injuries and trials, coming out on top in many games. One of the season highlights includes a blowout win of 10-4 against Taft High School, which provided a significant momentum swing in favor of the team.
