Dear Spectator readers,
As we begin our 105th year of Lake Forest Academy’s Spectator, we want to thank you for all the support and engagement you have shown us this last year.
Although the majority of the articles we write are written by The Spectator’s team, we would love to receive more input and suggestions for articles from the student body. We believe that you are the leaders and voices of the future. We are very grateful for the opportunity to put a loudspeaker to your thoughts and achievements via The Spectator.
This year, we aim for more feedback from the students — including suggestions, challenges, submissions and more. We are determined to become the main news source for LFA and the first place you look for information about the school, global news, the newest album reviews and, of course, a quick crossword to complete.
In a time where social media is increasingly becoming a primary source of news, we will strive to maintain the significance and prestige of journalism and the news industry. We want to remind you that the majority of news found on social media is manipulated in some way; by turning to The Spectator, we guarantee you a reliable and unbiased news source that upholds our professional journalistic standards.
The 2025-26 Spectator team is full of passionate journalists who aim to make the world a better and more truthful place. We are composed of reporters, editors, writers, artists and podcasters that will give 100% to sharing the stories and achievements that are most important to you. For our new readers: the next time you see a lonely Spectator edition sitting in lower Corbin or the Student Center, please pick it up, flip it open to any page and read the first paragraph of any story. Whether you know it or not, you will find a story that inspires, challenges or moves you in an unexpected way.
We appreciate your support and look forward to featuring many more of you over the next academic year.
