As Lake Forest Academy (LFA) gets ready for the 2024-2025 school year, the community is thrilled to introduce Enos Zaah as the new All-School President. Zaah, who has previously served as class president the past three years at LFA, brings experience and a deep commitment to our school community. His appointment marks the beginning of an exciting, new chapter for LFA, as Zaah steps into this prestigious role with a vision for positive transformation.
Born in Accra, Ghana, Zaah moved to the United States at four and has been living in Douglasville, Georgia ever since. This early transition to a new culture and language profoundly shaped Zaah’s perspective and inspired his decision to become involved in student leadership. His experiences navigating these challenges instilled a set of core values in him that continue to guide him today.
Zaah’s core values include religion and spirituality. Christianity has been a cornerstone of his life. Ever since he moved to the U.S., religion provided him with strength and resilience during his formative years. By getting involved with his church community, such as helping with food drives and forming supportive relationships Zaah was able to overcome the difficulties he faced adapting to a new culture and learning the fundamentals of English.
The second value Zaah cherishes is the importance of family and friends. He believes that the people who surround the community significantly influence who one becomes. Maintaining close, supportive relationships within the community fosters an inclusive and nurturing environment. Zaah’s emphasis on these connections is his commitment to building a strong, interconnected school community.
Kindness is Zaah’s third core value. He acknowledges that being kind can be challenging, but he is convinced that even simple acts of kindness, such as smiling at your classmates or teachers, can have a profound impact on others. Zaah believes, “Sometimes it is not easy to be kind, but just trying to smile all the time really makes everyone’s day better.” Zaah’s approach to leadership is rooted in this belief, as he aims to create a positive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and supported.
As Zaah steps into his role as All-School President, he approaches the responsibility with both honor and humility. He reflects on the inspiration he drew from Ferdoss Ibrahim’22, the All-School President during his freshman year, and how that experience ignited his passion for leadership. Zaah is determined to bring meaningful change at LFA, “Fostering a positive environment, whether that is by increasing school spirit, having more club engagement, or even calling students to come to dorm cups.”
One of Zaah’s key objectives is strengthening the connection between student leaders and their respective classes. He envisions a school where class leaders are not only role models but also actively engage their peers in various activities. By fostering a more interactive and cohesive student body, Zaah aims to elevate the overall school experience for everyone.
Recognizing the significant influence of the senior student council, Zaah is particularly excited about collaborating with them. He understands that seniors play a crucial role in shaping school spirit and setting a positive example for underclassmen. Zaah plans to work with the senior council to develop initiatives that boost school morale and encourage a sense of community through trying to make all-school events, such as Prom and HOCO, as fun it can possibly be.
In addition to supporting traditional fundraising efforts, Zaah is passionate about taking a hands-on approach to community service. He plans to go beyond fundraising by actively participating in volunteer work and engaging directly with communities in need. This approach reflects his belief in making a tangible difference through personal involvement, allowing everyone to be part of the community.
Looking ahead to the school year, Zaah describes himself as an approachable and open leader. He is committed to listening to students, valuing their input, and fostering an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. Zaah wants to be the president who other students can easily come up to and talk about their day. Embracing his guiding philosophy, “The people are the leaders, and I serve the people,” Zaah is ready to lead LFA with enthusiasm, integrity, and a genuine commitment to make a positive impact at Lake Forest Academy.
