Girls Hockey:
As the weather cools and the ice freezes, Girls Varsity hockey is preparing for another intense season. Coming out of a subpar season, the team looks to achieve greater success, Kate Delia ‘25, stating “I know if we work hard, we should have a good season with a lot of wins.” With new head coach Erin Stoney, the team hopes she instills a new intensity to the team.
Boys Hockey:
The Boys Varsity Hockey team is entering a league for the first time in years with teams from all over the north shore. They hope to find success with new coaching and leadership this year. The first game is on October 29th against local public school Stevenson High School.
Squash:
The defending Chicagoland squash champions look to take the trophy for a second straight year. The addition of new head coach Kedar Puvar can hopefully lead to continued success at the state and possible national level. With 5 new squash courts on campus, the team aims to be a no-cut sport this year, offering competition at the varsity and junior varsity levels. Since squash is co-ed, the team hopes to put more girls on the roster and diversify the sport for years to come.
Boys Basketball:
Ahead of their season opener in late November, the Boys Varsity Basketball team is presented with the new athletic center as a means to advance their game. As Head Coach Kyle Koncz stated, “Glore [Gym] is awesome… it will never be recreated, but from a basketball perspective, there’s just more space to play which is incredible.” The new courts serve as an impactful benefit, allowing for more games, practices, and open gyms for all teams on campus. Entering this ‘24-’25 season with excitement, Koncz highlighted select opportunities, such as the New Trier/Loyola and MLK Jr tournaments, for the team to prove itself against more established programs
Girls Basketball:
Girls basketball is already back in action. The girls have been training hard throughout the fall season by participating in open gyms, conditioning, and fall games. Third year student, Lindsay Farbman, and varsity basketball player explains her excitement, “This season is going to be extremely competitive and I can’t wait to see how our team brings The heat”. The team can’t wait to jump back into basketball with their season starting just next month!
Boys Swimming:
The Boys Varsity Swimming team looks to make waves in the pool this winter. After finishing last year with a 3-1-1 record, the team looks to improve with the addition of new coaching to the team.
