This morning, all delegates took part in FUN MUN: a fundraiser for next year’s conference by participating in frivolous activities alongside their committee chairs. In my committee, the chairs told Snuffy stories and sang blind karaoke!

Afterwards, we gathered as a school and headed to the bus to journey back to campus. In a week’s time, awards will be released and delegates are eager to see whether they won an award. All delegates had a terrific and memorable conference. Thank you for following along with MUNUC 2025!

This afternoon, delegates took part in the fifth and final committee sessions. They focused on drafting resolutions and voting for solutions. Overall, all delegates had an amazing conference and developed their skills in public speaking and knowledge of current events.

This evening, delegates were invited to take the dance floor at the delegate social dance and converse with their fellow peers — old and new. We look forward to a good night’s sleep before the journey home tomorrow afternoon.

Good morning Caxys! At 9:30 am, LFA delegates started their fourth committee sessions of the conference. The third day of Model UN of the University of Chicago is always the most thrilling: final resolutions are drafted, inspiring speeches are made, and eager builds as we get closer to making final votes regarding concluding solutions. Follow along as the day progresses and solutions are made!

Over the last twelve hours, LFA delegates have completed their second committee sessions: focusing on forming blocs with other countries that have similar goals in relation to the global issue at hand, creating working papers to display their solutions to their committees, and consolidating their views and blocs’ missions. Currently, all delegates are competing in the third committee session of the conference. In the World Meteorological Organization, we are presenting bloc positions and answering Q&As. Many members of the LFA Model UN team have expressed their success in their committees by asserting their ideas and joining blocs with aligning goals. A fantastic end to day 2 of the convention!

With some free time at hand, the delegates were able to spend the morning exploring the city. We took a scenic walk along the Chicago River and grabbed breakfast at a nearby cafe.

After a long day of travel and settling in, LFA’s MUN team has completed their first committee sessions. After arriving at the location, the team got checked in, grabbed dinner, and then attended the Opening Ceremony along with nearly all other high schoolers taking part. After the ceremony, students headed to their first committee sessions and spent the time debating their topics that will be discussed over the weekend. As a delegate in the World Meteorological Organization, my committee decided to spend our time debating Natural Disaster Prevention.
